Hampton Inn, St. Albans Vt

I thought the breakfast was very good. My husband thought it was ok, the staff at breakfast was great. very polite and helpful. nice variety of offerings. Our room was spotless. The hotel was also very clean. We especially liked that the hotel does not use chemical smelling cleaners, as we have a sensitivity to such cleaners,

Staff: 8/10 Friendly and welcoming. Parking: 9/10 Compact car parking was great and close to the entrance. The side entrance to the hotel from the parking garage (can only use it after you get your key), was very convenient especially since we brought our dog. Make sure you get your parking ticket validated at the front desk and keep it on your person when you leave so it's $3.00 instead of $6.00. Common area cleanliness: 9/10 The entrance, seating/dining area, and snack/souvenir area were clean. We got breakfast early, so everything was in its place. I can't say we know the status of the area after everyone else went through. The side area where the dog poop bags are located is very clean, no dog poop anywhere considering how many dogs we saw throughout our short stay. Room cleanliness: 7/10 Some dust in the less checked spots (the shelf for the extra toilet paper, the shelf with the coffee machine, and the corners of the bathroom floor). The tubs and standing shower bases are in need of updating as the bottoms are worn and have that darkened look from all the scrubbing and use over the years. The standing shower for our first stay leaked at the base. The sink from our first and second stay as well as the tub from our second stay did not drain well at all. When showering, the water would just collect at the bottom and drain very slowly afterwards, leaving all the soap residue behind. I find that sinks not draining in hotels is a common problem, but the tub not draining properly was a surprise. I also found a small clump of knotted hair in the bed. Unfortunately, the hair color was much lighter than my hair and I found it inside the sheets before I got into bed. Also, during our first stay, the white curtain for the window had a brownish red stain on it right where you'd want to grab it to pull the curtain open. Not the most appetizing, but for one night, it was fine.

The hotel was excellent, beds extremely comfortable, room was very spacious, the staff was fantastic (from front desk to the cleaning staff , everyone was professional, friendly, I can’t say enough great things about them!!!)

St Albans Hampton Inn is a high quality hotel; very nice, modern, clean room, has a fitness center, breakfast was very nice, receptionist was very helpful and welcoming; super convenient to the train station.

What a wonderful stay at the end of the train line…wonderful staff…so welcoming…the rooms are pristine…a pool and fitness center…I highly recommend when in St. Albans…
